CMU in the news
A bit of Carnegie Mellon in the news today. Well timed, making their appearances right between two visits to the old stomping grounds by some close friends. Cathy and Peter went out there for a weekend visit on Friday, to be followed by Jane and her mother this coming weekend.

First one up was an early bird, on my morning visit to Slashdot, there was coverage on Daniel Wilson's new book, "How to Survive a Robot Uprising: Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion." A recent Ph.D graduate from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute, he actually is qualified to write on this subject, though he does it with a humorous bent. Better yet, the article enlightens us all of the inner workings of roboticists. A nerdy bunch.

Next one up was brought to my attention after work when Roger, our technical strategist dropped a printout on my desk as he was leaving. I know some of my brothers do pretty well in school, others do even better in poker. Some better than others, but I think Gerber matches Jeremy Olisar's recent winnings, a semester of tuition in Absolute Poker's free "Win Your Tuition" tournament.

Happy Halloween!
