Well my significant other has returned to my side. It involved a 50 minute round trip at around 9pm and about $6 of gas, but it was worth it since everything is back in place now. Props for DHL and IBM (or rather their contractor rather for such a quick turnaround). My previous experience with Toshiba support was nowhere this quick. Here's a quick synopsis as to how the entire situation went down.
June 30th at 4:30pm picked up from Richard's house in Livingston.
July 1st at 9:10am delivered to IBM's contractor in Memphis, TN.
July 1st at 5:15pm that same day, IBM's contractor replaced the system board and shipped the laptop back out.
July 5th at 9:17am they tried making a delivery attempt, but no one was home at the moment. I ended up driving over to DHL that very night to pick up the laptop.
If it hadn't been for the July 4th holiday, I think I would have gotten my laptop back in 3 days. Pretty impressive. Cracking open the RAM panel to put my 1gig stick back in, I saw that they replaced my motherboard with a refurbished one. Oh well, what can you do? Anyway my only complaint is that they didn't return my Radtech.us Notebook ScreensavRz. I filed a complaint today and they said they would get back to me in the morning. IBM I want my $20 product back!
