Japan, Pepsi, Nintendo and nostalgia

Japan, always has the coolest stuff. Every marketer targeting the segment I belong to (nerds & geeks growing up in the 80's and 90's) should make a pilgrimage to Japan and study their ways. I've never been there (hope to visit late in the summer) but when I went to Taiwan, the KFC's there were giving away these cool Pokemon toy lamps with kids meal purchases. Naturally I got them all, and they happen to sit in my closet now. Was never a big fan anyway.

These Pepsi-Nintendo tie-ins are more relevant to my tastes. The sticky tape featuring nostalgic Mario Brothers levels would be awesome in any room. Then there are the pixelated toy caps. I think these would be enough for me to buy bottles of Pepsi... and feed them to my plants, do they like carbonation? Click here for the official sites: tape, caps.

Update: More Nintendo nostalgia: i am 8-bit art show.

Another very cool item found today. A bike frame made of bamboo!
