Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.

No, really, everyone's graduation is important for the simple fact that hey! You all just spent your last 4 or 5 years and lord knows however much money for that piece of paper you'll be receiving today or in the coming days.

I KID I KID! For all my close friends back home, the friends here and brothers graduating. Congratulations! You all get to go out into the real world now, working to support yourself, while I waste away for another year in college, blowing another $35k to $40k of my parents money.

Okay, okay, seriously... for those of you graduating, remember don't dwell on the past because there is so much more open territory in front of you. Keep dreaming, and most importantly, follow those dreams. Because if you yourself can't follow your own path to peace with life, no one else will be there to help you realize those dreams. And remember, all good things never come easy. The harder you work for it, the tougher it is, you'll enjoy it so much more when you finally attain it. And that's what life is all about isn't it? Challenges and conquering them, all on the way to that final destination whatever it may be... finding and learning more about yourself through each obstacle...

Congratulations...
