"There are new words now that excuse everybody. Give me the good old days of heroes and villains, the people you can bravo or hiss. There was a truth to them that all the slick credulity of today cannot touch."

Here we go again, it's nostalgia time! Last night I went to go watch the Knockaround Guys and came out of it thinking that the four guys in there reminded me more or less of the infamous A-Team. Thinking about it some more, all teams/units have 'sort of' the same types of characters though. Below is a comparison... and here are two links for more information: Knockaround Guys and the A-Team

Barry Pepper aka Matty Demaret he was more or less the George Peppard aka Hannibal of the team. Both of them were viewed as the leaders of their respective teams, but of course Hannibal is the more experienced of the two, so thumbs up goes to Hannibal in this comparison.

Vin Diesal aka Taylor Reese was the Mr. T aka B.A. Baracus of the team. Muscles of the group and intensely loyal, I think Taylor Reese was more of the muscles and brain type in the movie and B.A. was more of the muscles and engineer of his team. And they both drove the van! It's a toss up this round... but the A-Team van was definitely much cooler than Taylor's.

Seth Green aka Johnny Marbles was the Dwight Schltz aka Mad Murdock of the team. Both were pilots and the comedy track of their respective teams. But no question, Murdock wins this round for his ability to portray multiple characters. Oh and he's crazy!

Andrew Davoli aka Chris Scarpa was the Dirk Benedict aka Faceman of the team. Both were pretty boys and were able to smooth talk their way through things. Here again, the guy with the more experience wins out. I remember one episode where Face was able to memorize a phone number by listening to the tones that were dialed. Hardcore!

Oh and check it out, just saw this in ATOT, MacGyver: The Next Generation. I loved the original show, hope this one will be just as good. Now all I need to do is find the time to watch all these new shows that are coming out.
